Your CAD data stays with us.

When an industrial company hires us, we rarely receive just a product photo as a reference. We receive the original: CAD models, design data, often for products that have not even hit the market yet. This is exactly where conversations sometimes pause. That is understandable, as these files often contain years of development work.

That is why we want to be completely transparent about how we handle your data at line-up.

We work locally, not in the cloud

Rendering is computationally intensive, and the convenient route would be to outsource projects to external render farms. We do not do that. All projects run on our own hardware, on local workstations and servers in-house. Your design data does not end up on a third-party server whose location and operator no one can precisely identify.

This is a conscious decision. For us, it means investing more in our own computing power. For you, it means a clear answer to the most important question: Where is my data? With us, in a location we can identify for you.

No disclosure without your consent

Whatever you send us is used exclusively for your project. As a rule, everything remains in-house, handled by the people actually working on your project.

Should a project ever require external support, such as a specialized freelancer for a specific task, we will discuss this with you beforehand. The same applies to external tools. Nothing happens without your approval, and anyone involved works under the same confidentiality agreements as we do. If you wish to rule this out entirely, we will, of course, comply.

Data transmission is encrypted. If you use your own secure portal for data exchange, we are happy to work through it. Many of our industrial clients have such a system, and we are happy to adapt to it.

NDAs are the standard for us, not the exception

We are very happy to work under a non-disclosure agreement. If you have your own NDA, we will sign it. If you do not have one, we will provide one. For us, this is not an extra bureaucratic step, but the normal start to a project involving confidential product data.

This also applies to the time thereafter. We do not show renderings of unreleased products in our portfolio until you have unveiled the product yourself and given us the go-ahead. References are nice, but not at the expense of your market launch.

German service provider, German rules

line-up is based in Bad Säckingen. We operate under German law and GDPR regulations. With us, you have a contact person with a name and phone number, not a ticket number in an anonymous system. If in doubt, just pick up the phone and we can clear things up in five minutes.

Especially in the industrial sector, we know how seriously this topic is taken. Patents, market launches, and internal compliance requirements are at stake. That is why we prefer to establish the ground rules together at the beginning rather than discussing them later. If your IT or legal department has specific requirements, we will simply go through them together.

Ultimately, data security is not just a technical issue, but a question of reliability. Anyone entrusted with your design data should be able to say exactly what happens to it at any time.
